The old canal towpath is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The two-mile plus path starts at the parking area on Fall Hill Ave., near Normandy Ave. It runs along the old Rappahannock canal. The path ends at Princess Anne Street near Ford Street. If you’re into plants and nature there are literally hundreds of different species of plants and vegetation growing along the path. In the fall the leaves are breathtaking. The spring and summer months bring peach blossoms and roses. Not only is the walk relaxing but it helps to tire out the kids. Pets are allowed but must be on leash.
